David Barrett Rich
Since 2006, David has been the Executive Director of Supportive Housing Works where he has played a leadership role in developing and implementing local and regional campaigns to end homelessness. David has lead the creation of Opening Doors of Fairfield County – a collaboration of over 200 social service organizations, government agencies, corporations and municipalities with the singular goal of ending all forms of homelessness by 2020.
David has 25 years’ experience creating and building market-based solutions to alleviating poverty in North & Central America, Africa and Asia. Previous to joining Supportive Housing Works David lead the Mutual Housing Association of South Central CT. His international work includes serving for five years as Country Director for International Development Enterprises in India where he created a nation-wide manufacturing and distribution channel of appropriate technologies for India’s marginalized farmers. He has founded five non-profit and for-profit companies and turned around and brought to scale an additional four organizations.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University, a Master of Science in Urban Studies from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master in Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He serves on the board of directors of a number of international, regional and local non-profit organizations and foundations.
